Wash Your Face With Oil

Face washing with olive, coconut, and castor oil
The oil cleansing method is a method of washing your face with oil, not stripping it off with harsh cleansers. My moms might relate, but I haven’t consistently washed my face at night since I was young  When I do have makeup to take off I use (see homemade makeup remover here, but this oil cleansing method also takes it off) I’d usually just follow up with using  kids’ baby wash cloth. In the shower I normally washed my face with face wash or scrub. Yeah, I’m not on top of skin care over here.
I thought I might want to consider taking care of my skin, and I’d heard of oil cleansing, so that’s what I tried.  I love it! It’s super simple, my skin feels great and glow-y afterward, and I started using items I already had at home: Just olive oil and coconut oil.
The oils dissolve the oils on your face and in the pores and while dissolving them it takes away all the dirt and grime on your face as well.  The steamy washcloth opens the pores even more and loosens up any stuck in your skin. A light layer of healthy oil is left on for the skin to absorb.

Oil Cleansing Method Directions

1.  Mix your oils: I used half coconut and half olive. If you melt the coconut it will mix with the olive and stay liquid (again, like dissolves like- oils dissolve into other oils).
2.  Pour a quarter-sized amount of oil mixture or a small dollop of coconut oil in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and then cover your face, working the oil in in small firm circular motions for a full minute or longer.
3.  Get a wash cloth wet with hot (but not burning) water.  Gently wring out until it’s not too drippy, and then place over your face.  Cover with another dry hand towel if desired to keep the heat in longer.
4.  Leave the hot wash cloth on your face for 30 seconds or until it’s cool.  Gently wipe away makeup and excess oil and pat dry.  Don’t take off all the oil, leave a small amount.
5.  (Optional) If your eyes feel heavy or greasy from the oil, you may want to swipe them clean with a dab of witch hazel on the corner of the hand towel

Choosing Oils

Don’t let obsessing over the perfect oils or perfect ratio of oils prevent you from trying this cleansing method.  I started with half olive oil and half virgin coconut oil and then added in some castor oil (about 1 tablespoon to 1/2 cup of my other oils).  Castor oil is  drying and very cleansing.  Grape seed, sweet almond, apricot kernel, avocado, sunflower, and hazelnut oils can all be used and may work better for your particular body chemistry than others.  Castor oil is very drying, so it should only be used with another oil, but any of the others can be used on their own.

.Pranayama; Extension of The Pran or Breath

Prānayama is a Sanskrit word meaning "extension of the pran or breath" or, "extension of the life force". The word is composed of two Sanskrit words, Prana, life force, or vital energy, particularly, the breath, and, to extend or draw out The origins of this yogic discipline lies in ancient India and what is known as present day Hindunisum.
Pranayama aims at bringing the involuntary functions of the respiratory mechanism within human control. The term pranayama has been constituted by two words: Prana + Ayama. Prana is the vital force which pervades the whole cosmos. Prana is more subtle than air and can be defined as the energy essence that is within everything in the universe. Prana is the principle of development and sustenance both of the nervous and cellular tissues of the body and the mind.

In the process of breathing when the prana air is inhaled, definite action takes place. One is related to the ingestion of oxygen into the alveoli and the other to the ingestion of the nervous energy into the brain system.
Ayama means to control or to give a rhythm or a definite flow. In this sense Pranayama may be defined as a process and technique through which vital energy can be stimulated and increased: and this brings about perfect control over the flow of Prana within the body.
 IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRANAYAMA
  1. Place for pranayama should be clean, peaceful and airy.
  2. Pranayama should not be performed under a fan on full speed.
  3. Pranayama should be done in morning hours preferably before the dawn.

PRANAYAM; B

Repeat this process of exhaling the air by pushing the stomach inside and inhaling fresh air with least efforts atleast 200 times or say for about 10 minutes.
PRANAYAM: C

PRANAYAM; D
A person should sit in Sukha Asana or dhyan asan , close his eyes , keep his fingers in such a way that three fingers cover the eyes and one finger gives a little pressure on the forehead . The thumb should cover the ears by giving the little pressure. Now he has to take deep breathe and release the air slowly through nose so that a sound similar to the humming of bees comes out . Repeat the process for about 10 minutes.
PRANAYAM; E
A person should sit in Sukha Asana or dhyan asan, close his eyes, take deep breathe and release the air through mouth slowly that the sound of “OM” is pronounced. Repeat the process for about 10 minutes.

        BENEFITS OF PRANAYAMA
He who practices Pranayama will have good appetite, cheerfulness, handsome figure, good strength, courage, and enthusiasm, a high standard of health, vigor and vitality and good concentration of mind. Pranayama is quite suitable for the Westerners also. A Yogi measures the span of his life not by the number of years but by the number of his breaths. You can take in a certain amount of energy or Prana from the atmospheric air along with each breath. Vital capacity is the capacity shown by the largest quantity of air a man can inhale after the deepest possible exhalation. A man takes fifteen breaths in a minute. The total number of breaths comes to 21,600 times per day.
Breathing is life. It is one of our most vital functions. One of the Five Principles of Yoga is Pranayama or Breathing Exercise which promotes proper breathing. In a Yogic point of view, proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital life energy. Pranayama Yoga also goes hand in hand with the Asanas. The union of these two Yogic Principles is considered as the highest form of purification and self-discipline, covering both mind and body. Know more about Pranayama techniques in the following sections: More about Pranayama go on Health n Wealth web site.

Ensure you are sufficiently hydrated with pure water and fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
Hydration is key for an optimally functioning body and helps to flush waste out of the body that could be hindering efficient digestion. Always drink the majority of your water and especially fresh fruit and vegetables juices on an empty stomach, not with or after eating. This helps the hydration go straight into your cells and ensures the digestive fire required to digest solid foods is not diluted with liquids. One of the easiest and most powerful tips for boosting digestion is to not eat straight away upon waking. Instead, focus on drinking a lot of good quality water and some fresh vegetable juice after that. This will help your body to excrete the waste from the previous day before loading up on more food.
Eat when you’re hungry and eat until satisfied, not stuffed.
The majority of people today eat according to a schedule – it’s 7am, so it’s breakfast time. It’s your lunch break, so it’s time for lunch. While routine is helpful in our busy world we've become so attached to certain social formalities and ideas around eating that we're often eating when we're not even hungry, or overeating past the point of comfort. This is a recipe for slow and inefficient digestion. Of course in today’s world, there are some circumstances in which eating is dictated by your job or, but you can still choose to eat only the amount you feel ready for at those times or to have easily digested foods with you like fresh juices, smoothies, fruits, vegetable sticks, salads, avocado. Tune in to your body’s signals for when it’s hungry and when to stop eating. This is a daily practice that takes time and commitment to master. Over time it will increase your presence, knowledge of your body, emotions and food attachments, help you to maintain a balanced weight, higher energy and yes, improve your digestion.

Get your digestive fermented foods.
These can really assist your digestive function, especially if your diet includes animal products, refine sugar, refined carbohydrates or a lot of fats, even healthy fats (and of course processed foods!). They also will help you to assimilate more nutrition from the foods you are eating with them.. These must be the unpasteurized kind found in the refrigerated section at your health food store, not the canned or jarred kind with added sugars and vinegar. Enjoy a half cup with each meal.
Constipation is a very common problem and estimated to be the cause for approximately millions doctor visits every year. Constipation is hard, dry that are difficult or painful to pass and which may be accompanied by bloating and discomfort. Chronic dehydration, luck of exercise, and low amount of dietary fiber can all lead to the development of constipation. Drinking enough water each day and avoid caffeine can help prevent dehydration. At least 30 minutes of exercise every days of the week is recommended for better overall health as well digestion. Even brisk walking is better then no aerobic activity. There should be enough fiber in your diet to insure that stools are soft and pass painlessly and easily.
Reduce stress in your life. Stress has been shown to cause weight gain, constipation, diarrhea, and lowered immune system. Yoga, Meditation, bath and other relaxation techniques can help you to handle stress and inadvertently help your digestion.
Keep Track of your digestive habits. Use a journal to write down what you eat and any increase or reduction of symptoms that you experience. You may only need to change 1 to 2 things about your diet to improve your overall digestion.
Use herbs for digestive support.
I like my food with Indian spices and herbs, but you can use any herbs, which is you like.
In morning one cup warm water with half lemon juice, it's helps you to move your normal bowel movement each day, and you fill fresh all day long.
I like Indian tea with spices (Chai Masala) and fresh ginger in morning.
I love to mix 1 heaping teaspoon in a mug with vanilla stevia and a pinch of cinnamon, or with a little fresh almond milk and raw honey. So good!
Peppermint and ginger are also wonderful herbs to support digestion. They're best when you use fresh mint and fresh ginger slices in a big pot of hot water and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before drinking. Add a dash of raw honey and it tastes amazing!
I hope you enjoy these tips…a healthy gut leads to a much more enjoyable and happy life!
