Lose Weight with Hunger-Fighting Foods

Some food are water absorbent food, all rich in soluble fiber and they have the same effect on you. When you eat these food, they dissolve and form a gel in your intestines. This gel improves the way your body processes carbohydrates, and it decreases insulin production by slowing glucose absorption. When you indigest food with fiber, it stop nasty cravings by keeping your blood sugar levels steady. Here are some of favorite food that have been staples in nutrition practice.

Pears

We have all heard that an apple a day keeps the doctor away; well, so does a pear. Pears actually have more pectin, a hydrophilic fiber, than apples. When you eat the fiber-rich skin along with the flesh, you’re even better off. The skin contains the antioxidant, which prevents cancer and artery damage.

Oatmeal

This is absolutely my number-one choice for breakfast because of its ability to satiate. (Add Chia seeds, and there is no better way to start your day). In addition to soluble fiber, oatmeal has 6 grams of protein per serving, as well as the minerals and iron. A 15-year study published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine found that oatmeal—lowers cholesterol and decreases the risk of heart disease.

Chia seeds

This small black or white seed has the capacity to absorb water up to 12 times its weight! This ability means you maintain hydration, when your body is properly hydrated, nutrients from foods you ingest are absorbed more efficiently. Chia seeds also have no discernible flavor, so they can bulk up your favorite snacks and meals  (smoothies, yogurt, dips and spreads, stir-fries, etc.) without affecting their taste. Chia seeds also contain eight times more omega-3 than salmon and 30 percent more antioxidants than blueberries.

Brussels sprouts

They contain enough hydrophobic fiber to keep you full for hours. And the American Cancer Society includes them as a key dietary recommendation. The cancer protection comes from four specific nutrients, which are the starting points for a variety of cancer-protective substances.

Barley

Barley has a delicious nutty flavor and pasta-like texture, which is why it’s one of my favorite grains to add to salads, soups, and side dishes. In the store, you’ll find hulled, pearled, and pot barley—go for pot. It’s between hulled and pearled in terms of how much it’s been processed. And it retains its nutritive punch while being the easiest to work with.

Okra

Many people shy away from okra because of its slimy consistency, but it’s easy to alleviate the goo factor when you add okra to stews, soup, and stir-fries. Okra is high in vitamins, calcium, iron, and magnesium. When you add okra to your meals, you won’t be hungry for hours.

Tips For How To Get Started On A Simple Ayurvedic Cleanse‏?

Have you been feeling more sluggish and tired lately. Your energy level just is not what it used to be. After you eat, all you want to do is take a nap. And even your thinking is not as clear and sharp as you do like.

Even though you may be careful of what you put in your body, it's inevitable in our society that you'll be exposed to some external pollutants. According to Ayurveda, your digestive fire has to digest everything that you're exposed to: all of the sights, smells, sounds, tastes, and exposures through the skin. It also has to digest all the emotions and thoughts that arise from everything that you're exposed to. This is a tall order, and most of us experience some toxic build-up that leads to blocked channels in the body and imbalances in our health.

Physical signs that these toxins have built up include decreased energy; a heavy coating on the tongue; foul body, breath, and stool odor; indigestion and excessive flatulence; body aches; foggy thinking; and sleepiness after eating. It's always best to get checked out by your doctor to make sure these signs are not related to a diagnose illness.

An Ayurvedic cleanse focuses on resetting that digestive fire, allowing it to rest and strengthen. The detoxifying nature also supports the body’s own natural mechanisms to remove built up toxins from the body. It’s a bit like cleaning out the pipes when the drain gets clogged, or hopefully even before the drain gets clogged. While a full cleanse (called panchakarma) should be done under the guidance of an Ayurvedic  practitioner.

A one-week food-based home cleanse can be summed up in the following 5 easy steps:

1. Start a kitchdi diet.

Kitchdi is an easy-to-make and easy-to-digest complete meal, made with rice, yellow mung dal, spices, clarified butter and vegetables. For one week, eat this for all of your meals, and you will see the cleansing and simultaneously nourishing effect that it has on your body.

2. Avoid snacks.

This is the best way to reset your digestion, remove toxins, and even lose weight! But you don’t need to starve yourself. If you're hungry, have warm, cooked foods that use the same ingredients as kitchari: rice porridge, steamed or stir-fried veggies, etc. Just remember that your digestion will work best if you give it at least five to six hours between meals.

3. Sip hot water and detox tea in the morning and throughout the day.

This also helps reset the digestion and cleanse toxins. Staying well hydrated is key. If needed, also drink room temperature water to ensure you get plenty of fluids. Be sure to avoid ice, cold drinks and caffeine.

4. Do a daily self-massage with warm oil.

You’ll find this is a great way to treat yourself and relax. In an Ayurvedic cleanse, a self message serves to facilitate the removal of built-up toxins so they can be eliminated as waste. The warm oil also calms and rejuvenates the nervous system.

5. Take 2 tablets of Triphala (or ½ teaspoon of powdered Triphala) at bedtime.

This herbal remedy promotes rejuvenation of the tissues while also supporting healthy bowel movements.
Once you have finished the cleanse, take a few days to reintroduce other elements of your normal diet back into the picture, waiting a few extra days to add heavier foods like dairy and meat. If there are other habits that you know aren’t serving your health, now is a great time to let them go. And if you found portions of the cleanse beneficial, like the self–massage or Triphala, feel free to incorporate them into your long-term daily routine.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t reap all the positive benefits of detoxing your body, mind, and spirit. Here are my top eight tips to detox, free of fasting, juicing or restricting.

Consume whole foods as close to their natural state as possible.
Detoxify the body doesn't have to mean a crazy restrictive diet. By choosing whole foods, your body will be able to digest and metabolize them with ease, leaving more time for natural detoxifying to take place. Think fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season, organic free-range chicken or turkey, wild-caught fish, cage-free and organic eggs, naturally gluten-free whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds.
Eliminate trigger foods such as caffeine, sugar and gluten.
Foods like these can wreak havoc on your digestive system, zap your body of energy, and become addictive over time. By easing up on these choices, your body will naturally improve digestion and energy levels, and will learn to crave natural whole foods instead.
Hydrate
Drink up pure filtered water, green tea and hot lemon water first thing in the morningStaying hydrated can help cleanse your body of toxins, boost metabolism, clean up your skin, and do so much more. Hot lemon water can help to release toxins as well as bacteria from your skin.
Sleep well and often.
Getting enough sleep — and getting enough quality sleep  is crucial to a healthy body. Detox baths with Epsom salt and lavender can improve quality sleep and help you stay asleep. Turning off technology and using earplugs and eye masks can also aid proper sleep.
Practice slow eating and eating without distractions.
Eating slowly and without distractions will give your body time to register that you're eating, will prepare you for proper digestion, and will allow your body to hone its natural hunger cues. This will teach you to eat what your body needs, and to stop when you're full. Put the fork down between bites, savor your food, and limit distractions when you're eating.
Move your body in ways that are restorative.
Be sure to move your body daily. This doesn't always mean an intense workout. Sometimes your body will crave relaxing movement, such as a walk, jog, hike, yoga, or a dance class. By moving in such ways, you're able to release tension and improve recovery and repair of your body.
Stress.
When you're stressed, your body kicks in with a fight-or-flight response. This means that any crucial actions within your body are halted as you fight your stress. This leaves little time for detoxing, cleansing, digesting, or pretty much anything other than combating the stress of the moment. Practice activities to diminish stress, whether it's yoga, meditation, or watching a funny movie; whatever works best to manage your stress.
Eat three square meals a day and minimize snacking.
When your body is constantly metabolizing food, you leave little time to do anything else, including detoxifying, cleansing, and repairing. By eating three meals a day without snacking in between, you allow yourself time to fully digest your food. Plus you leave time to detox and heal your body.

Here are 5 of our favorites food on the earth.

Kale is fun to eat and very good for health benefits. Home Remedies for Easy Way to Remove Moles.

Most moles appear by the age of 20 or 30. They can be flat or raised, rough or smooth, with or without hair. Factors like genetics, hormonal fluctuations and sun exposure may affect the number and appearance of your moles. Most moles are harmless, no health concerns. They are problematic primarily from an aesthetic point of view as many people find them unattractive. Some moles will fade and disappear as a person ages, but not all and often not when people are most concerned with how they look. Some simple home remedies can help you get rid of unsightly moles. Before trying the home remedies though, it is important to inspect your mole for abnormal characteristics such as asymmetry of the border, color, or diameter. If you notice any of these issues or the mole is changing in shape or color without any treatment, get it checked by a dermatologist to rule out the possibility of it being cancerous. Do not attempt to treat cancerous moles on your own.
Here are the top home remedies for moles.
1. Garlic
Garlic is one of the most effective home remedies for moles because it contains enzymes that help break down the clusters of pigment-producing cells. Plus, it helps lighten the dark pigmentation.
Crush a fresh garlic glove and place it on the mole.
Secure it with a bandage and leave it on overnight, or at least for four hours.
Do this daily for a few days. The mole will then fall off naturally. This method is said to give positive results with merely five days of daily application. Make sure to disinfect the area with rubbing alcohol or another disinfectant before repeating the process daily. Plus, to protect the skin surrounding the mole, apply some petroleum jelly or oil.
Warning: Applying garlic on skin can cause redness and irritation.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a very popular home remedy for mole removal. Due to its acid content, it helps scab the mole and makes it fall off over time. Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and place it on the affected area. Secure it with a bandage or medical tape and leave it on overnight. Do this daily for about 10 days or until the mole falls off.
Alternatively, you can rub warm water on the mole or lightly scrape the surface with an emery board and then apply cider vinegar on it until it turns white. Leave it on until it dries naturally. Do this several times a day. Apple cider vinegar is likely to make the mole worse in the initial few days, but it will get better in a week. If it leaves a scar, apply coconut oil.
Note: To protect the skin around mole, apply petroleum jelly on the surrounding area before applying apple cider vinegar.
3. Castor Oil
Castor oil helps remove warts, moles, and skin tags. Being using Castor Oil, it helps dissolve and eliminate unusual growths. This method is not likely to leave scars. However, it tends to take a lot of time as it gets rid of moles one layer at a time.
Mix a pinch of baking soda and a few drops of castor oil. You can also mix in ground aspirin. Gently rub the mixture on your mole. Leave it on for a few hours until it dries naturally. Do this twice daily for about one month. If you do not have baking soda, you can use castor oil alone.
4. Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed oil is particularly useful for removing raised moles. It softens the moles and loosens them around the edges so they can easily come off.
Mix enough finely ground flax seeds and honey with flaxseed oil to make a paste. Apply it on the affected area and leave it on for at least one hour. Follow this remedy three times a day for a few weeks.
5  Pineapple Juice
Fresh pineapple juice can help lighten the pigmentation of moles, thereby making them less noticeable.
Soak a cotton ball in pineapple juice and apply it on your mole. Leave it on overnight or until the juice dries.
Do this several times a day for a few weeks or until your mole fades. For best results, use fresh pineapple juice made daily as it contains more citric acid. You can also use other acidic juices like that of lemons, grapefruits, and sour apples.
6. Grapefruit Seed Extract
Being rich in vitamin E and flavonoids, grapefruit seed extract works as a good natural home remedy to get rid of moles. Apply one drop of grapefruit seed extract on your mole, cover it with a bandage or gauze and leave it on for a few hours. Do this two or three times a day for about one month. Alternatively, you can combine one part grapefruit seed extract and 10 parts avocado oil. Apply it on the affected area and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Do this daily until you are satisfied with the results.
7. Onion Juice
Onion juice can help get rid of moles and maintain an even skin tone because of its acidic properties. Extract fresh onion juice and apply it on the affected area using a cotton swab. Leave it on for 30 minutes or more and then wash it off. Do this two or three times daily for at least three weeks. Alternatively, apply a mixture of equal parts of onion juice and apple cider vinegar. Leave it on overnight or at least for half an hour. Do this daily for a month or until your mole fades away.
8.  Aloe Vera
Unlike other acidic ingredients, aloe vera gel works as a mild natural remedy for removing and lightening skin moles.
Apply fresh aloe vera gel on the mole and secure it with a cotton bandage. Leave it on for three to four hours to allow the aloe to be absorbed completely. Do this two or three times a day for a month, or until you are satisfied with the results.
Before trying out these remedies, especially the ones with strong ingredients like garlic and apple cider vinegar, make sure your skin is not sensitive to them. Plus, if the remedy worsens the skin condition then discontinue its use.
